I started this little melange as a Christmas wish list, and then it kind of morphed into something I would throw together as an outfit, so I just ran with it. Basically all of these pieces I would warmly welcome into my closet. This year so far I haven't asked for much so what I'm getting is pretty much going to be a toss up. Surprises are always fun.
 Here in apartment 212, the countdown has officially begun [20 days]. Starting to get excited for home cooked food, getting to see the pars, pups, and siblings and being finished with this semester!
Officially going to be graduating in exactly one year. Halleluiah.
There is light at the end of the tunnel.
Also, a little rumor has begun that the Rogers Roach fam might be getting a new little [canine] edition over christmas. My fingers are crossed!

I had an exceptionally productive day today! I kick started my goal to do yoga every morning with vigilance {I'm sure I will be feeling that tomorrow}. Got some Christmas shopping done for the brother in law...that's a new one. Of course I couldn't go shopping without buying something for myself, but fear not! I got great phenomenal deals. Even the sales associate commented on the steal that I had just made. Oh yeah, and did I mention that it was the last day of classes? So wonderful day all in all.

I present to you my official Christmas list via polyvore! Just discovered this little gem of a website and I am in love. I'm sure I will think of more things I would like to add, but for now here it is!

On a side note: while compiling my list, I listened to this christmas mix via 8tracks. It puts a different spin on some classic Christmas songs, and presents some new ones altogether. I'm a fan.

De-Stressing


It's a dreary and rainy day here in boonetown. The day didn't start off that well due to the minimal amount to sleep I got in efforts to maximize my study time for my last big Chemistry test, but I am now done stressing over tests and on to trudging through the last week of studying for finals and writing papers.

And so with the coming of the end of semester stresses I give you:
5 ways to De-stress
[in no particular order]
first. shopping. It seems to be the go-to thing this semester. So... {drumroll} ...I finally just bought the perfect LBD. Hoping to wear it to the nutcracker with my family...or the work christmas party..or to the christmas eve lovefeast service... or I might just mix and match and wear it to all three occasions! I would show you a photo but it came not from an online vendor or a big powerhouse brand, but our very own cute little boutique in Boone: Lucky Penny! Their clothes are seriously to die for. I will be doing further Christmas shopping there!

So I know, that was kind of an expensive de-stressor. If you have no extra cash, you could just pretend to shop! 
I do all the time. Like this: 
I want these. seriously. urban: I love you, I do, but I do not need to spend anymore money today. For now little boot you will stay in my wish list folder.

second.Music. One of the best de-stressors out there. Turn it on a drift away into relaxation! Current playlist playing? My Christmas one of course! But more specifically, the Nutcracker Ballet. It always brings back nostalgic memories of decorating and dancing around the Christmas tree with sister as kids (yes I actually remember). We go most every year... It might even be my favorite Christmas tradition!














third:Cleaning. Nothing says no stress like a clean organized space. Bring on the Feng shui! Out with the clutter and explosion of clothes and in with the fresh air and floor space! I will feel so accomplished when I am done...right now obviously am procrastinating by blogging, but I'll get it done...eventually.

fourth:Exercise. A big one. Release those endorphins and get better sleep! I used to be a bit of a yogi, however this semester I have let it fall to the way side. It's easy to do with the craziness of the semester but I want to will get back in that habit. With all this floor space, I'll have the room to do all the sun salutations I want!

fifth:This is another big one: Sleep! I'm never more stressed out than when I haven't gotten enough sleep. When presented with the choice to do some last minute cramming or get a good nights rest, choose sleep! Trust me. For now, a nice long nap on this rainy day is going to happen. I won't be seeing that stress for a looong while.

Oh Atlanta, I hear you callin

Our visa appointments (lex and I's) went absurdly well this weekend. The man at the front desk told us it would take at least two hours. My appointment was scheduled at 9...got there 15 minutes early... out of there by 8:55. So much build up and nervousness for nothin! The rest of the day was spent shopping, sight seeing, and trying to find our way around this big  Ginormas city. I think boone could fit inside their downtown ten times [if not more]. Yikes. I would love to go back with a better idea of a plan and more time to see this lovely city.

uggs!: the most comfortable and socially acceptable shoes out there.
I am currently in a battle with myself whether not to take them to france or not.  I'm thinking I just might have to. I can't part, even though they might be as good as a big American sign pointing to me wherever I go. What are your thoughts?

Currently coveting:

A neutral Chunky sweater. Yep, the cold months are approaching. I recently have been limiting the amount of sweatshirts/sweatpants/t-shirts I am allowing myself to wear in an effort to appear "put together". Apparently in France it is totally unacceptable to wear anything of the sort. Throwing this on as I'm walking out the door is a simple, easy, and chic solution to mornings when I couldn't care less!
 An LBD. Through this entire past year of binge shopping, I have yet to buy a little black dress. So so necessary and such a go to for every kind of occasion. This one is from j crew, a perfect place to find classic pieces!
These purple platform heels. Oh my goodness. If I actually had somewhere to wear these shoes! Totally impractical in boone with its endless mountains to walk up, and as a tourist, i'm not going to want to walk around in these babys. However, one day I want to will live in a city where these shoes are appropriate to wear.

This Michael Kors runway watch. So needed. This is such a classic color that will go with absolutely everything! A simple staple that I need to bring into my life!
